Booking and Participation

You can book classes via the studio phone (5-8 p.m., Mon-Fri), the mobile phone (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.), or e-mail. Without confirming, you cannot participate in classes; you can do that monthly, defining a number of classes you are going to attend in a given month. The studio provides intimate atmosphere and small groups, which is why, for the sake of your comfort, we insist on you booking classes. You can cancel or change the classes you choose to attend, but you have to do it at least 24h prior to classes in question; otherwise, you will lose them. Booking the first (or any succeeding) class via phone or e-mail is treated as an equally legitimate way of confirming your participation: such classes you also have to cancel at least 24h before they take place. The studio cancels classes with fewer than five people attending, which is why we strongly recommend booking. If you don't inform the studio of your intention to attend a given class, you risk not being admitted.

You should refrain from eating 2h before classes at the latest

During classes, you should wear comfortable clothes. We practice barefoot. If you do not have your anti-slip yoga mat, you can rent a mat in the studio.

The studio is open 15 minutes before classes start.

You do not have to be on time for Mysore classes; however, you should not join the class later than an hour before the end.

Ohm and Ashtanga invocation are chanted only at the beginning of the Mysore classes. If you miss that, you can silently sing or say the chant to yourself so as not to disturb others. Similarly, after the practice you can sing or say Mangala Mantra. Mantra lyrics are available online at the studio website.

If the class time is up with you still practicing, you should proceed to the basic end sequence and relax. If you join the class late, bear in mind that you might have to skip a part of your practice.

Remember about Moondays (New Moon and Full Moon). These days the studio is closed. Our website always lists dates of the forthcoming Moondays.

Individual Classes

If you want to practice more closely with the teacher, have health problems requiring individual practice, don't like practicing in a group, or have time-related problems, you can ask the teacher to organize one-to-one classes. The meeting price and hour are negotiable.

Health Problems

If you have health problems that could hamper your yoga practice, talk to the teacher before the first class. It is recommended that you consult a doctor beforehand. Mysore classes offer the possibility of customizing your practice according to individual health problems. In difficult cases, we recommend starting with one individual class.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa classes are designed for beginners. Classes are conducted by teachers who show and explain the Vinyasa rules, as well as teach how to breathe properly with the ujjayi breathing and how to keep bandhas, which enables the proper energy movement in your body. Learning how to smoothly change asanas, integrated with breathing, is the major purpose of the classes. In consequence, your body gets stronger and more flexible, gradually preparing to do more advanced asanas. Contrary to individual practice, Vinyasa classes do not always feature the same asana sequence, differing also in the way you enter asanas. Vinyasa aims at familiarizing you with the rules, the asanas, and the ashtanga practice.

Mysore

Mysore is the traditional method of practicing yoga, deriving from the Ashtanga birthplace, Mysore in South India. Designed by Krishnamacharya, it is continued by his disciple, Sri K. Patthabhi Joisa in Mysore in India. The Mysore practice is highly customized to the level of practitioners. Here students move through the practice at their own breathing pace. Instructors guide students individually, correcting them and gradually introducing more advanced asanas in the sequence. Thus, students match their practice to their abilities.
Mysore is the best practice preparing you to the individual practice, as well as the most effective way of practicing yoga. If you want to practice Mysore, do it daily; in case you do not participate in classes, you should practice individually at home. Daily practice is of utmost importance.
If you are a beginner, attend the Vinyasa classes, where you can learn the basics. If you have problems with remembering the asana sequence, attend the first lead series classes; it is there that you consolidate your knowledge

P.S.P

Led First Series is another step leading to individual practice (Mysore), helping you refresh and consolidate all its elements regardless of your level.
The classes are conducted by the teacher according to the Vinyasa rules, that is with the focus on combining movement and breathing. In asanas, you are supposed to stay for five breaths (or longer in some asanas); changes of asanas are conditioned by your pace of breathing. The asana sequence never varies. The teacher's presence lets you retain the steady, calm pace of practice, without confusing the asana order.
The LFS classes allow you to achieve the amazing smoothness of movement characteristic of Ashtanga, as well as prepare your body and mind for deep relaxation.
Depending on the day of classes, Led First Series is done halfway (till navasana) or all the way through.
